    Crowns:

Dental crowns help restore the function of teeth that have suffered from extensive damage or decay and protect against future dental problems. Dental crowns are also used to support dental bridges and hold them in place, improve the appearance of misshapen or discolored teeth, and to cover and protect a tooth following a root canal treatment. Crowns may be comprised of ceramic, metal alloys, or porcelain-fused-to-metal. Placing a crown sometimes requires more than one visit to the dentist to complete. First, a dental impression is made and a temporary crown placed to protect the tooth. The impression is then sent to a laboratory where a custom permanent crown is created to fit the alignment and aesthetics of your smile. For some patients, same-day crowns are available allowing you to receive complete treatment in a single visit. With proper brushing, flossing, and care, dental crowns can last as long as 15 years, providing you with a beautiful smile for many years.

    Bridges:

Dental bridges are among the longest used, most durable, cost-effective, and proven treatments available. They are used to bridge the gap between a missing tooth and neighboring teeth and come in three different types: traditional, Maryland bridges, and cantilever bridges, each with their own purpose. Dental bridges also help to keep teeth in their correct position and maintain one’s natural facial structure. Bridges may also assist in improving speaking and chewing.

Dental bridges are minimally invasive and take 2-3 weeks to fully place. They are also highly durable and, with proper care, may last as long as 30 years.

    Inlays/Onlays:

Dental inlays and onlays are used to cover and restore damaged teeth. An inlay eliminates the space between the inner cusps of a tooth and covers the center of the tooth’s surface. An onlay, on the other hand, covers multiple cusps or even the full biting surface of the tooth. Dental onlays are also sometimes called “partial crowns.”

    Dentures:

Dentures are a proven method of replacing missing teeth. They may be fixed or removable, full or partial, and they can come in a variety of different materials. For some patients, same-day dentures may also be available. At New Image Dentistry & Implants, we customize each set of dentures to ensure a perfect fit and look for your distinct dental needs and aesthetics.

    Implant Supported Crowns:

Dental implants provide a great option for those with a missing tooth or teeth. Implant supported crowns are paired with dental implants to provide a permanent solution that restores both the look and function of your smile. The implant is first placed and given time to fuse with the natural bone, providing a sturdy foundation for the replacement tooth.

    Implant Supported Dentures:

Removable dentures may require messy adhesives, and even with them, they do not always stay in place. If you experience discomfort, pain or embarrassment due to shifting dentures, gum sores, and other complications, implant supported dentures may be the ideal solution for you. Implant supported dentures distribute your biting pressure in much the same way as natural teeth. They also stimulate the gums and jaw bones for better oral health and a stronger supportive structure. Implant supported dentures can provide a natural-looking solution that lasts for years.

    Partial Dentures:

Partial dentures may be either fixed or removable. The type of partial dentures used depends largely on the health of the teeth surrounding the empty space. A fixed partial denture (also known as a dental implant bridge) creates a permanent attachment between replacement teeth and the jaw. Either a dental crown or implant forges this connection. A removable denture (also known as a removable bridge) fills the gap left by a missing tooth between two healthy teeth. The removable denture consists of a gum-colored plastic base and artificial replacement teeth. A metal framework helps to keep the partial dentures in place.

    TMJ:

TMJ stands for “temporomandibular joint”, which is the joint that connects one’s lower jaw to the skull beneath each ear. TMJ disorders are common conditions that may result in ear pain, jaw pain, and headaches due to improper bite, clenching of teeth, misaligned jaw joints, or damage to the jaw or face. An orthotic splint, dental crowns, braces, night guards, and enamel reshaping are some of the treatments used to stabilize bite and eliminate the pain that TMJ disorders cause in the jaw muscles and joints.

If you are suffering from missing teeth, pain in or around the mouth a misaligned bite or simply aren’t satisfied with your smile, there are a number of restorative dentistry options available to you depending on your needs.
